GA for Graduate Student Life
To assist in the daily operations of Graduate Student Life with event planning and managing the Graduate Student Advisory Committee.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Help create and manage social, cultural, professional development and recreational events for all graduate students
- Manage the Graduate Student Advisory Committee, its volunteers, and communication to the committee
- Manage the GSAC Meetings: content, event dates, and monitor discussions in-person and via WebEx
- Attend dedicated graduate events and activities, including, but not limited to: Orientations, Open Houses, Academic Program and SHU sponsored events
- Editor/writer/designer of the monthly newsletter
- Must be a self-sufficient trouble-shooter
Knowledge & Skills Needed
- Ability to multi-task a must
- Ability to work within a team a must
- Desire to have fun and make a difference a must!
- Event planning experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Graphic design experience a plus
- Detail-oriented and well organized
- Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office skills
- Travel required to school functions & events
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings & weekends
- Availability by phone evenings & weekends
- Self-starter and finisher
- Ability to lift & carry
