Dean's Office Graduate Assistant

To assist the Associate Dean with administrative projects and to provide ongoing support for the operation of the Dean's office. 

  • Part-time (20 hours/week)
  • Compensation: $16,000 tuition waiver
  • Academic Program Required: Management, Marketing, Finance, Business

Knowledge & Skills Needed

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in business-related discipline
  • Strong computer/data entry aptitude (Microsoft Suite products, Tableau)
  • Proficient with Excel/data analysis is preferred
  • Record maintenance skills
  • Business program research experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work with a team

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides support for the Dean's office, including greeting and directing visitors to the Dean's office; dealing with student/faculty inquiries, as appropriate; serving as a liaison between the
  • Dean's office, faculty, staff, students and external constituencies
  • Provide support to the Associate Dean with research projects when necessary
  • Organizes and facilitates meetings and special events; schedules and coordinates dates and times, venues, attendance, agenda and facilities; takes minutes and provides administrative
  • support and follow-up on matters arising from meetings or special events, when necessary
  • Schedules and coordinates associate dean’s appointments and coordinates other activities related to social media when necessary
  • Collaborate with staff and/or student employees on administrative projects, as appropriate
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Associate Dean

Graduate Programs Assistant

To assist the Executive Director of Graduate Programs with administrative projects and to provide on-going support of the operation of the graduate programs. 

  • Part-time (20 hours/week)

  • Academic Program Required: Business related

  • Update and archive all documents related to the graduate program office
  • Assist in scheduling Program Director monthly meetings
  • Keep WCBT Graduate Program marketing materials such as brochures, websites and social media records up to date and accessible
  • Provide support to Associate Dean and Graduate Program office with administrative projects
  • Provide relevant research on graduate programs when needed
  • Provide support to the Associate Dean with research projects
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean

Research & Data Analysis Assistant 

To assist the Director of Accreditation with data analysis and research projects. 

  • Part-time (20 hours/week)
  • Compensation: $15,000 tuition waiver
  • Academic Program Required: Business related

Knowledge & Skills Needed

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in business-related disciplines & currently enrolled in a Master’s Program at SHU. 
  • Strong computer/data entry aptitude (Microsoft Suite products)
  • Proficient with Excel /data analysis and some experience with Power BI
  • Experience with Canva
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Exceptional Interpersonal and Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities
  • Detail oriented
  • Flexible and positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be a self-starter
  • Willingness to continuously learn, grow and evolve 
  • Clerical duty experience

Welch Experience & Student Success Graduate Assistant

Dates

July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024

Primary Role

To assist with planning and execution of the Welch Experience events and oversee the student leadership teams in the Jack Welch College of Business & Technology. Working with the Director, this position will design and implement regular programs that focus on the development of essential business skills; expanding student networks with faculty, alumni, and employers; and creating student leadership teams.
Graduate Assistant for the Welch Experience & Student Success will also assist with student registration training, guidance and troubleshooting. 

  • Part-time (20 hours/week)
  • Compensation: $15,000 tuition waiver
  • Academic Program Preferred: WCBT Graduate program

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in college-wide development, planning and execution of Welch Experience programs including but not limited to:
    • Pre-Fall Program
    • Guest speakers
    • Golf lessons and tournament
    • Networking events
    • Corporate visits
    • Social events
    • Academic support
  • Oversee student leadership teams including but not limited to:
    • Welch Corporate Structure teams
    • Welch Mentors
  • Coordinate Exploring Business & Technology LLC activities
  • Attend and present at yield events such as open houses, accepted student days, orientation and Welch Wednesdays
  • Registration training for students in the Welch College of Business & Technology

Knowledge & Skills Needed

  • Knowledge of student programming
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite and Canva

Unusual Working Conditions

WCBT hours of operation extend beyond normal SHU office hours. Extra hours or work may be necessary as required by special projects, workload or deadlines.
