At Sacred Heart University's School of Communication, Media & the Arts (SCMA), we are shaping the next generation of storytellers, artists and communication professionals who inform, inspire and create change. A nationally recognized leader in media education and creative practice, SCMA unites two vibrant departments: Art & Design and Communication & Media. Together they offer five undergraduate majors and five graduate programs that prepare students for meaningful, future-ready careers.

Students learn from award-winning faculty who are working professionals across media, communication, design and the arts, bringing real-world expertise directly into the classroom. They create and study in state-of-the-art facilities that include television studios, a film sound stage, post-production and immersive media labs and art and design studios. Podcasting suites and WSHU Public Radio provide additional professional-grade resources.

Our proximity to New York City connects students directly to the leading media, communication and design industries through internships, mentorships and professional partnerships. Combined with study abroad programs, this blend of global perspective and local opportunity helps students develop the experience and insight essential for success in today's creative economy.
