Whatever your reason for pursuing a career in health care, here’s where we come in. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, expert faculty who are leaders in their fields, robust clinical placements, interprofessional learning and nationally ranked programs, the College of Health Professions is poised to equip you with the skills you need to succeed in today’s dynamic health care landscape.
Our graduate program offerings are diverse and inclusive, and consist of doctor of physical therapy, physician assistant studies, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, athletic training, exercise & sport science, public health, healthcare informatics and health administration. Our physician assistant studies program is located on the campus of Stamford Hospital, which represents a supportive and collaborative relationship for clinical education.
Undergraduate majors include communication disorders, exercise science and health science (with concentrations in global health, healthcare administration, dietetics & nutrition, public health and radiography). There are also multiple dual degree programs (3+2 or 4+1) that will help you to achieve your dream of becoming a health care professional even sooner.
The programs are delivered in our pioneering Center for Healthcare Education, where we offer collaborative experiential learning through extensive high-fidelity simulation suites, anatomage tables, a home health suite, driving simulator, audiology center, cadaver anatomy laboratory, digital X-ray and expanded motion analysis and human performance labs. These facilities enable us to bridge academics and community service by expanding our community offerings with hearing tests, a stroke clinic, driving assessments (using the driving simulator), sport performance assessments, injury prevention and wellness-oriented services.
Students engage in international service-learning and clinical experiences through our global health programs, which promote global health awareness, cultural competence and social justice. Together, our programs epitomize the spirit of community-centeredness, respect of others and service to others that Sacred Heart University aspires to achieve every day through its identity, vision and mission.
We invite you to learn more about the college and the exciting programs that reflect our commitment to service, experiential interprofessional learning and professional excellence.
