The CHP Academic Advising Team’s mission is to provide evidence-based guidance and support to empower students in their educational and personal development process. We are committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community where every student can thrive academically and holistically. Meet Our Advising Team

Brittany Schweig, MA

Manager of Graduate & Dual Degree Student Success

Brittany Schweig has been at Sacred Heart University since 2019 but has worked in higher education for the past seven years. She has served in various roles in student support services, including the registrar’s office, clinical compliance, fieldwork coordination and department management, but most prominently in academic advising. Now serving as a graduate student adviser and FYE instructor, Brittany works diligently and creatively to meet the needs of the CHP student population. She embodies a holistic approach in every encounter, as she values students as much more than participants in the classroom and members of the University, but rather also as peers of the greater global community.

When not on campus, Brittany spends time with her husband, daughters, chickens, family and friends. You’ll likely find her living life to the fullest and enjoying all that Connecticut has to offer whether that’s hosting a festive dinner, sitting around a campfire, enjoying a walk, reading a book, indulging in local cuisine or exploring a farm. 

Jodi Standrowicz, MA

Health Science Adviser

Jodi joined SHU in September 2021 as an academic adviser in the College of Health Professions. Before her time at SHU, Jodi served at three other institutions in Residential life, advisement, facilities and conference services. She is a proud alum of Hofstra University, where she earned her BA in Psychology and her MA in Marriage & Family Therapy.  Jodi has a true passion for working with college students. Her mantra for students is “you are never alone!”

Outside of work, Jodi is a second-degree black belt in taekwondo.  She is happily married to her college sweetheart, proud mom to two sons and yellow lab Calvin and is happiest when she is spending time with her loved ones, baking or enjoying the outdoors. 

Amanda Wagner, MS

First-Year Adviser (Exercise Science)

Amanda has worked at Sacred Heart since 2015, first in Residential Life, then in Transfer Admissions and now in the College of Health Professions as an academic adviser to our Exercise Science students. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western New England University and her Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University. From her graduate work, she grew passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion work, looking to incorporate those throughout all aspects of her life. She now is in an Ed.D. program at the University of Illinois, with a focus on diversity and equity in education. She loves working with college students, helping folks gain access to higher learning and assisting in their professional and personal success while attending SHU. Go Pios!

Molly Paguaga, Ed.D.

Assistant Dean for Student Success

Molly began working at SHU in 2017 as assistant director of global health programs. As assistant dean, Molly supports all students in the College of Health Professions and the College of Nursing by facilitating student success using theory-driven approaches. Before her time at SHU, Molly supported the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Community Programs at NYU Abu Dhabi. Molly earned her BA in English Literature from Western New England University, her MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs from New York University and her Ed.D. from University of South Carolina. When she isn’t working, Molly enjoys spending time with her husband Pete and their mini Australian Shepherd, Ruth Barker Ginsburg.
