What is a big question that you think the liberal arts help us to explore?
How should we view the world around us and understand our roles within it?
What is one favorite quote or idea of yours from any class you've taken in the foundational core?
In my American Government and Politics course, we spoke about the importance of holding respectful and constructive dialogues. The professor said one must maintain empathy and understanding, especially for those they disagree with. This message resonated with me deeply. The class discussions and debates were a highlight of my SHU experience.
How do you hope your studies will help you make a positive impact in your community?
I hope studying criminal justice and history will give me the perspective to be an effective and just lawyer, working to represent the people of Massachusetts.
What are you most excited about for the future of the Pioneer Scholars?
It’s knowing that I will continue to work and grow alongside so many amazing people.
Looking ahead, what kind of impact do you hope to have after graduation?
I want to continue my education in law school, and eventually enter public service as a public defender or prosecutor.
