What is a big question that you think the liberal arts help us to explore?
The liberal arts invite us to explore who we are, what we believe and how culture shapes our lives. They push us to question our values and think about the kind of people we want to become, helping us learn how to think deeply and make thoughtful choices for the future.
What is one favorite quote or idea of yours from any class you've taken in the foundational core?
My favorite idea I’ve learned during my time at SHU is to understand my own worth, while also staying aware of the importance of others around me.
How do you hope your studies will help you make a positive impact in your community?
I want to become a role model for students in the Horizons program at SHU. I want them to see that no matter their background, education can open doors. If they follow the path Horizons provides, they can achieve anything to which they set their minds.
What are you most excited about for the future of the Pioneer Scholars?
I’m most excited to see how the Pioneer Scholars program continues to grow and create more opportunities for students like me.
Looking ahead, what kind of impact do you hope to have after graduation?
I hope my work at Sacred Heart is remembered through Horizons, as a reminder of how important it is to fund programs like this. The impact of Horizons will live on in my own success, serving as proof of what’s possible when students are given the chance to thrive.
