The Jennifer Mattei Research Scholarship will provide undergraduate students with a stipend to conduct research, ideally involving the coastline of Connecticut.

As a faculty member, Jennifer Mattei was passionate about her research with Project Limulus and in coastal restoration, and wanted to share her knowledge with as many undergraduate students as possible. The scholarship recipient will be mentored by and work in conjunction with a Sacred Heart University biology faculty member. Students interested in the fields of ecology, coastal management and restoration or other marine biological studies are invited to apply. In addition to the research stipend, a portion of the funds may be used for student travel to academic conferences.

Stipends and travel awards will be awarded based on the number of applicants and available funds. Project timelines will be at the discretion of the student and research supervisor.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
