Working with Senior Citizens

Students can volunteer to work with senior citizens in assisted living centers and rehabilitation facilities in the communities around the SHU campus. Volunteers provide companionship and support to residents, and create a bridge between these neighbors and the University. Students who are interested in a career in geriatric medicine or therapy can gain experience in a residential setting.

Our community partners include:

  • Jewish Senior Services
  • Ludlowe Center for Health and Rehabilitation
  • Northbridge Healthcare Center (Adopt-a-Grandparent Program)
  • Aging with Grace – Hall Neighborhood House
