Prior to accepting the position of director, Karreem served as an adjunct professor here at Sacred Heart University where he led Catholic Intellectual Tradition seminars. He was an assistant professor at Southern Connecticut State University where he taught ethics and leadership development courses.
In 2006, Karreem graduated from Yale Divinity School. He studied social ethics while in the seminary and business ethics at the School of Management. In his spare time, Karreem serves on the advisory board of Rock & Wrap it Up!, an internationally recognized anti-poverty think tank that solves food insecurity issues in North America. His focus with Rock & Wrap it Up! is to assist the organization with its development efforts when soliciting major league sport franchises and large concert halls who donate surplus food and paper goods to their local food pantries and soup kitchens.
His passion for social justice and service learning curriculums is shown through his excitement to develop more opportunities for the Sacred Heart community. Karreem is excited to promote the office’s goal of working with every student, faculty, and staff member who seeks to support the University’s mission in preparing ourselves to live in a world where we all make meaningful contributions to our community.
