New and Prospective Students

For new students you will receive an email with information on your housing package. The emails are sent out in late spring/early summer.

You can either request a roommate that you might already know or meet at orientation. You can do this by using the SHU myHousing portal.

If you do not know who to live with and would like to use our roommate finder called Roomsync to create a profile and search for potential roommates. In early June you will be emailed information to your Sacred Heart account with instructions on how to sign up and use Roomsync.

Each residence halls are staffed with a Resident Hall Director (RHD). The responsibility of the RHD is to oversee all operations of their particular building and supervise the education and well being of the students assigned to them. Each hall is also staffed with a number of Resident Assistants (RAs). RAs are responsible with helping their residents on their particular floor. RAs take turns being on duty, which is described as being available each day, as well as making “rounds” throughout the building to ensure the well being of the residents.

The first thing you need to do is log on to your Blackboard account and find out what your Mailing Center (MC#) number is. Once you have that information, your mailing address is as follows:

         Student Name
            MC#_ _ _ _ (ex.0001)
            Sacred Heart University
          5151 Park Avenue

          Fairfield, CT 06825

In order to get a package delivered to you, use your mailing address, as listed in the prior question. Once the package has been delivered, you will receive an email from the Mail Center stating that your package has been delivered and that is ready to be picked up. The Mail Center is located below the University Commons on the ground floor.
