Michael Frechette, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor , Marketing and Sport Management

Dr. Frechette joined the Welch College of Business in 2016. Before earning a Ph.D. in both International Business and Marketing, Dr. Frechette lived and worked abroad for over ten years. For most of his time abroad Mr. Frechette was in China where he worked in the education and management training industries. Prior to living overseas Dr. Frechette worked for several years in corporate recruiting.

    • Master of Business Administration, Tsinghua University (Beijing, China)
    • Bachelor of Science in Psychology, University of Connecticut

Teaching Responsibilities

    Dr. Frechette teaches at the graduate and undergraduate levels and has taught the following topics: Consumer Behavior, Marketing Management, Marketing Research, Digital Marketing, and Marketing Principles.

Research Interests and Grants

    With regards to academic research, Dr. Frechette focuses on the mode of social and economic exchange called collaborative consumption (e.g., Airbnb or Uber). His research explores the similarities and differences in consumer behaviors within such technology-mediated peer-to-peer exchange.
