Bala V. Sathyanarayanan | Vice President, Human Resources
Bala V. Sathyanarayanan is the Vice President, Human Resources for North America Operations. In this role, Bala provides leadership on the design and execution of transformation and HR plans that help deliver a workforce capable of executing on Xerox’s long-term business strategy.
Bala has a proven record of accomplishment in helping management teams align their Human Capital with the overall business strategy. Prior to joining Xerox, Bala was with Hewlett Packard Inc. as Head of Human Resources for HP’s Americas Region, a $16B business. In this role, Bala provided HR leadership to the business management teams within the region He has also served as senior partner of Talent Acquisition and Services Leadership Program for Avaya Inc.
Bala also has several years of international experience creating business development and human capital systems and strategies. These skills were honed at Coca-Cola Inc., where he served as the regional training manager for the company’s Asia Region, and at United Technologies – Otis Elevator Company, where he began his career as a Management Trainee and held multiple business roles leading up to safety and training officer for its South India Operations.
Bala holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and an MBA from the University of Madras in India. He also received a Master of Human Resources degree from Rutgers University and graduated from the Advanced Management Program, Harvard Business School. Bala was named on the “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business” list in 2014.
Jack Pettit | Talent Development & Workforce Management
Jack Pettit is currently a senior Human Resources executive at Purdue Pharma L.P. He received a B.S. in Economics from Rutgers University. Jack serves as a business partner with the Sales and Marketing functions on all Human Resource-related topics.
He began his Human Resources career working in the financial services industry on Wall Street. His multi-industry experience has enabled him to develop and recommend solutions to his line clients that produce results and positively impact the business. Jack has held several positions of increasing responsibility in the transportation business, as well as the life sciences industry. His experience in Human Resources includes concentrations in compensation, talent acquisition, employee relations, and organization design.

Douglas “Max” Reid | Human Resource Management Strategy
Max Reid has served as the Sr. Human Resource Officer for Xerox, Colgate Palmolive and PanAmSat, now part of Intelsat. He has also worked with the Ford Motor Company in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, Nortel Networks in Toronto, Canada and Executive Networks, headquartered in San Francisco, CA. At Xerox, Mr. Reid was a member of the Board of Directors for Fuji Xerox in Tokyo, Japan and Xerox Canada in Toronto, Canada. He also served as Chairperson of the Human Resource Committee for the YMCA of Greater New York. Born in Canada, Mr. Reid graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. in Business Administration, and Cornell University with a Masters Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations.
Mike DeSantis | Union and Labor Relations
Mike DeSantis has worked for GE for more than 29 years, joining the company in 1984 . He has worked in roles with increasing responsibility in Human Resources and Union Relations on a domestic and global basis. Mr. DeSantis was appointed to his current role as Manager of Global Union Relations for GE Corporate in 2008. In this role, he is responsible for working with labor unions that represent GE employees in the U.S. and around the world. Mr. DeSantis has extensive experience in contract negotiations and has been a member of GE’s National Bargaining team in 1991, 2000, 2007 and was the company’s chief spokesperson during the 2011 negotiations.
