EC 699 Competitive Analysis of Industry & Strategic Behavior 3CH
Prerequisite: EC 511 Economics Principles. This case study based course develops and applies microeconomic tools for determining the competitive nature of competition in a variety of industries. Topics to include strategic behavor and decision making, market structure, scale economics, merger activities, antitrust laws, entry barriers, product proliferation and preemption, advertising, technological innovation, price elasticity, price determination, and introductory forecasting. An advanced understanding of microeconomics is not required. For fall 2009, this course may be used as a substitute for EC 621 - Managerial Economics.
