Venue & Travel

The Conference will take place at the Dingle Skellig Hotel, located in Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland.  National Geographic once called Dingle/ Daingean Uí Chúis “the most beautiful place on earth.”

Dingle is the fourth largest fishing port in Ireland. Dating back to the Middle Ages, it sent pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain, which carried wool, hides, and fish, and returned with wine, salt, and clothing. Today Dingle is a thriving community of 1,200 residents, but it serves the larger countryside, and in the summer months it caters to thousands of visitors, where Fungi the dolphin has entertained tourists since 1983.

Dingle is located in a Gaeltacht region, about 50 kms southwest of Tralee, 57 km west of Kerry Airport, and 71 kms northwest of Killarney. Dingle is well-known for its numerous pubs, many of which host traditional Irish music many nights. In 2014 Dingle was named the top ‘foodie town’ in all of Ireland! There are also a significant number of craft, art, and woolen shops.

In addition, Dingle Distillery—one of only five in Ireland—was launched in 2012, and the Dingle Brewing Company, which makes Creans beer, opened in 2014.

One of only three aquariums in Ireland is located in Dingle, the Oceanworld Aquarium/Mara Beo Teo.
