The Music Faculty Concert Series presents “Jobimfest VI,” celebrating the music of Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Jobim, on Tuesday, April 16, at 7 p.m. in the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts. Professor Joe Carter and the Brazilian Jazz All Stars will pay tribute to Brazilian music composer, Antonio Carlos Jobim, during this special concert. Jobim was the primary force behind the creation of the Bossa Nova style and his songs have been performed by many singers and instrumentalists in Brazil and internationally. Joe Carter, violao, David Finck, acoustic bass, Hendrik Meurkens, harmonica, Ali Ryerson, flutes, Laura Volpintesta, vocals, and Graciliano Zambonin, drums and percussion, will perform. This concert is free and open to the public.
