The Critical Thinking Speaker Series presents “The Varieties of Metacognition: Insights from Philosophy and Neuroscience” with Jorge Morales, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow, Psychological and Brain Sciences, Johns Hopkins University, on Wednesday, November 7, at 2 p.m. in the Art & Design Gallery, 5151 Park Avenue, Fairfield. Jorge Morales studies the strength or intensity of conscious states—that aspect of experience shared by awful pains, striking experiences, vivid visual images and how these degrees of consciousness help us know our conscious states when we use introspection and metacognition. He approaches these issues from an interdisciplinary perspective that includes philosophy, psychology and neuroscience. This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the College of Arts & Sciences.
