Fr. James Martin, S.J., will present his talk “Showing Respect and Welcome in the Church to LGBT People” on Tuesday, January 29, at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart University’s Chapel of the Holy Spirit. The event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Office of Mission & Catholic Identity and the Human Journey Colloquia Series. Fr. James Martin is a Jesuit priest, editor at large of America magazine and an internationally known bestselling author. He has written for many publications, including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, and he is a regular commentator in the national and international media. In 2017, Pope Francis appointed him a Consultor for the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communication. Fr. Martin will sign copies of his latest book, Building a Bridge: How the Catholic Church and the LGBT Community Can Enter into a Relationship of Respect, Compassion, and Sensitivity following the talk.
