Faculty Brass Quintet will Host Recital to Benefit BLUME Haiti

Sacred Heart University’s Faculty Brass Quintet will host a recital on Friday, December 11, at 7 p.m. to benefit BLUME Haiti.  The event will take place in the Schine Auditorium. The quintet will present a program of classic and new music, including Hungarian March, Suite from the Monteregian Hills, David Holsinger’s Scrappy Bumptoes Picture Cards and Ragtag Diary and the U.S. premiere of Mel Mobley’s Supplication.

SHU’s Faculty Brass Quintet includes Walker Beard on trumpet, Damon E. Coachman on trumpet, Kevin Lam on French horn, Director of Bands Keith Johnston on trombone and Jason Arnold on tuba.

The event is free and open to the public, although donations to benefit BLUME Haiti will be welcomed and appreciated. BLUME Haiti is an organization that works with Haitian and other international partners to develop leadership skills and other opportunities through music education and performance.
