An excerpt from The Cardinal, magazine of St. Charles Preparatory School Alumni (Columbus, Ohio):

When Dr. Brian Stiltner ’84 came to town to join his 30th reunion celebration in late August, he made time to visit St. Charles. He made presentations (photo) to five religion classes in combined sessions on the topic, “Pope Francis on Inequality and Community” in the Cavello Center. He also spoke to students in the Guidance Office about liberal arts education.

Stiltner, with degrees from John Carroll University and Yale University, is chairman of the Department of Philosophy, Theology, and Religious Studies at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.

Brian said that what led him to his teaching profession started at St. Charles, with inspiring courses in religion and other subjects. “One thing the Pope would say to you,” he told the students, “is to make the most of this education, which gives you the ability to go forward in a spirit of faith, hope, and joy to make the world a better place.”
