U.S. News & World Report: SHU Again Among the ‘Best Colleges in the North’

In its 2014 edition of America’s Best Colleges, U.S. News Media Group has placed Sacred Heart University 33rd among the top master’s level colleges and universities in the North. The rankings, which include more than 1,400 schools nationwide, are available online at and in the September issue of U.S.News & World Report magazine. 

Sacred Heart University, which was recently highlighted in the College Access and Opportunity Guide for its outreach to traditionally underserved student populations, enrolls more than 6,400 students in dozens of degree programs ranging from the associate’s level to the doctorate. The University was also recently ranked among the best in The Princeton Review’s “Best 378 Colleges2014 Edition,” “Best in the Northeast” and “Best 296 Business Schools – 2013 Edition.”

In September, the University welcomed its largest freshman class in history, with nearly 1,300 first-year students enrolled. Among important academic initiatives this fall was the introduction of new graduate programs, including master’s programs in digital marketing, human resource management and film & television. In May, the University broke ground for the largest new academic building in the school’s 50-year history, which will house the John F. Welch College of Business and the Department of Communication & Media Studies.
