The University of Notre Dame Folk Choir will perform a special concert of sacred music at Sacred Heart University on Sunday, May 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit. The event is sponsored by the Notre Dame Club of Fairfield County. It is free and open to the public.

The students will be accompanied by some of the many musical instruments played by choir members, including flute, organ, violin, guitar, string bass, Celtic harp, cello and bodhrán (Irish drum). The choir’s musical offerings have been gathered from all parts of the world, incorporating influences from Ireland, France, Mexico, Russia, China and Africa. A special emphasis will be placed on contemporary music, which will be sung almost entirely in four-part harmony.
