SHU and Notre Dame High School Announce New Partnership

News Story: September 13, 2012

Members of the Sacred Heart University Community,

I am pleased to share some exciting news about a new partnership between Sacred Heart University and Notre Dame High School. It makes sense that as neighbors and as two Catholic institutions that share a common mission and vision, we would work collaboratively.
Through this partnership, Sacred Heart and Notre Dame will work together to enhance the high school’s athletic fields and bring wireless technology to its classrooms. Sacred Heart sports teams will have scheduled time to use the updated fields, which will include a regulation soccer field. Notre Dame students, faculty and staff are invited to use of the newly renovated Ryan Matura Library, and SHU will provide a 50 percent tuition discount to academically qualified Notre Dame graduates who attend the University full time.
At the same time, SHU has purchased a two-acre parcel of land off Park Avenue from Notre Dame. The parcel abuts property that we already own at 5401 Park Avenue and will be used for future academic building needs at that location. Within the coming months SHU hopes to present its plans to the Town of Fairfield.
This agreement further strengthens the long-standing academic and community relationship between our two schools, and I ask you all to join me in welcoming the Notre Dame students and faculty into our community.
