Joshua Foer

WSHU invites you to “Join the Conversation” with Joshua Foer on May 4th at 7:00 pm in Fairfield, CT, where he will discuss his New York Times bestseller Moonwalking with Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering. A book signing will follow.

Foer studied the quirky subculture of “mental athletes,” who can memorize almost anything—number sequences, poems, entire books—at super-human speeds.  After a strange odyssey learning the art and science of memorization, he won the U.S. Memory Championship.

In his talk, Foer will reveal ancient methods for memorizing, and the fascinating ways in which our brains are wired to remember, or forget, a vast array of information and experiences. He proves an old but vital human truth: in every way that matters, we are the sum of our memories.

Books will be available for purchase at the event. Seating is limited; please make your reservations at www.wshu.org. This event is free, but there is a suggested $5.00 donation at the door to benefit WSHU.
