Vision Project Presents Joe Alicastro

Sacred Heart University's Media Studies and Digital Culture department will present a talk called "Joe Alicastro: Producing the News" as part of the Vision Project's Photography in a Digital World lecture series.  The event will take place in Sacred Heart University's Schine Auditorium on campus, Monday, April 20th at 2:00 pm.  It is free and open to the public.

A thirty-year veteran producer for NBC News, Mr. Alicastro was political editor for the 1996 and 2000 elections coverage and a special events producer for the network’s extensive political coverage from 2003 through 2007. Before that he served as NBC's bureau chief in Rome, traveling extensively around the globe covering breaking news, including the fall of the Berlin Wall, the breakup of the Soviet Union, the Gulf War and the liberation of Kuwait. Mr. Alicastro is the winner of three news and documentary Emmy Awards. His presentation will focus on digital journalism and the evolution of news production. Mr. Alicastro will begin teaching at Sacred Heart University in fall 2009.
