The Mission of the Student Mentor Program is to develop an individual plan with each student that will serve as a foundation of success at Sacred Heart University, and beyond. Opportunities provided trough the Mentor office will develop each student in the following ways:

• Students will explore who they are as individuals, establish goals, and identify resources necessary to help them reach those goals.
• Students will embrace education, and expand the way in which they approach academic challenges.
• Students will understand the value of compassion, awareness, and acceptance of others in the community.
• Students will develop skills necessary for success in today’s ever-changing society, and graduate from Sacred Heart University prepared to lead in their field of choice.

 

In addition, the Mentor Program serves as a support system for the entire Freshman Class.  We understand the challenges and obstacles that Freshman and transfer students face, and it is our aspiration to make the transition to Sacred Heart University as seamless as possible by identifying individual challenges and providing a comprehensive support system of on-campus resources.
