MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Students,
With the fall semester starting quickly I wanted to welcome everybody back to SHU. For the Class of 2012 and new incoming students many exciting and new things are in store for Sacred Heart and Student Government. First off, Class of 2012 Elections will take place on September 24th.
Chapel Updates: The Chapel is on track and should open December 2008!
I want to thank everyone from last year who helped in aiding the renovation process for Hawley Lounge. Through numerous surveys and letters the administration has agreed to renovate and update Hawley Lounge to be more accommodating to us students and our many needs.
Hawley Lounge Update: Currently, Hawley Lounge is offline and under construction. Although it may look the same a lot of behind the scenes work is being accomplished. The preliminary date to reopen is around October 15th.
We are proud to have finished first in the Campus Wide Challenge preliminary round. We are still competing strongly within the ONE campaign to take the title of first place so I urge you to visit the site and join at www.one.org/campuschallenge.
If you have anything you would like to address or see fixed please feel free to tell one of the representatives in your class so we can address the situation.
I still strongly encourage you to get involved on campus and within the community. Once involved, you will understand why Sacred Heart is one of the top 366 universities in the country.
Remember, just like you, I am a student and am willing to listen to everyone's concerns and will try my best to help fix and work on these issues. Because of the construction to Hawley Lounge my office is temporarily located in SC 234B or 234C.
Sincerely,
Matt Telvi
