ABOUT THE SPAIN STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM

“This was an unbelievable experience. It gave me independence and more knowledge about another culture than I could have hoped for. It was amazing. I loved the trip.”

Student who participated in our Granada, Spain Study Abroad Program

Students are invited to apply to the Sacred Heart University Summer Study Abroad Program at the University of Granada in Granada, Spain. Students earn six credits in Spanish in the historic city of Granada, home of the Alhambra, in the beautiful southern province of Andalusia.

The Modern Language Center (Centro de Lenguas Modernas) at the University of Granada is located in the central and typically “granadino” district of the city. It is housed in a sixteenth-century palace restored in 1992 for teaching purposes. The Center offers courses in Spanish for Foreigners as well as a variety of foreign languages to students from all over the world. Highly qualified staff members are specialized in language teaching, and include professors and lecturers from the University of Granada. The Center is fully equipped with a library and the most up-to-date audio-visual aids in both classrooms and language laboratories that are set up for multimedia and audio-video activities.

This program may be of particular interest to those majoring in Spanish and history, or those wishing to complete their B.A. or B1 area requirements.

After students register for the courses, Sacred Heart University bills students the regular tuition for summer courses plus a $300 study abroad fee. Students are responsible for costs associated with airfare, housing, books, and personal expenses. The Residencia provides three meals a day, Monday through Saturday, and breakfast only on Sunday. Students are required to obtain International Student Identification Cards, and can apply on line or through the Sacred Heart Study Abroad office.

Application Deadline is March 1st
