The Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts at Sacred Heart University offers a wide array of performing arts attractions throughout the year. The Edgerton Center also is home for the Performing Arts Department here at SHU. Guest artists, clinicians, speakers, and instructors make regular appearances that are open to the SHU community as well as general public.

The Performing Arts Department has many opportunities for those interested in Theatre, Choir, or Band. We offer a performing arts minor with concentrations in Music Performance (Vocal or Instrumental), Music Literature and Theory, or Theatre (Production or Acting/Performance). There are many elective courses offered as well as private lessons in all instrumental and vocal areas. The Theatre Arts Program (TAP) has opportunities for any area of interest including: Performance, Technical, Administration, Design, or Creative. The Band and Choral Programs offer many different ensembles including: 4 Heart Harmony Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Liturgical Choir, S.H.U. L.O.V.E. – Ladies Only Vocal Ensemble, Marching Band, Pep Band, University Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Ensembles such as Woodwind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, String Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and competitive Winter Guard. The Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts offers a wide array of performing arts attractions throughout the year as well as is the home for the Performing Arts Department here at SHU. |
