3 + 3 OPTION IN PHYSICAL THERAPY
Combining Undergraduate and Graduate Studies

Sacred
Heart University offers qualified University undergraduates the opportunity to complete an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree in Physical Therapy within 6 years.  The ability to take advantage of the “3+3” option (3 years of undergraduate course work and 3 years of graduate course work) is available only to students who choose undergraduate majors in Exercise Science, Psychology, or Biology. Students choosing a 3+3 option must work carefully with their undergraduate advisor to follow a specific sequence of study in their chosen undergraduate major.

Sample curricula for each of the majors are provided at the links below. These programs of study provide guidance on how to complete all major requirements and DPT prerequisites within three years. Please note that at least some summer work is required for each of the 3+3 options. With appropriate planning, summer course work may be completed at other universities offering equivalent courses.
