No matter where you work, your clients, your co-workers, your customers and community members will represent a wide array of cultures and backgrounds. An understanding and an appreciation for this diversity is a crucial component of not only being a good business person, but a global community member as well.
Whether doing business internationally or representing your home country, school, or company, a sense of global awareness lays the foundation for successful interaction.
The John F. Welch College of Business works closely with the Study Abroad Office at Sacred Heart University to offer
short-term study abroad programs that not only provide our students with an immersion into other cultures, but thanks to The Welch Experience, provide a special tuition waiver that covers the cost of tuition for the business course taken while students are abroad.
In addition to our study abroad options in Luxembourg, Ireland, and Rome, the College of business also offers courses and workshops that focus on International Business and world issues, creating students who are well-equipped to succeed in the global economy.
One of these highlights is a Cultural Negotiations Seminar presented by
Professor Tuvana Rua of our Management Department. Please contact Professor Rua if you have any interest in her presenting this workshop to your group, club, organization or class.
