FAVORITE COURSES
I loved my biology classes at Sacred Heart, and I always thought I'd go to medical school. Then I worked with professors who encouraged me to do research. They helped me see that, by choosing public health, I can help entire communities instead of just individuals.
PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS
While I was working on my Master's in Global Health Policy at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., I worked for the Management Sciences for Health on HIV/AIDS projects and did field work in India. That work culminated in a report that I coauthored on child health issues for UNICEF.
BIGGEST SURPRISE
I originally chose Boston University and spent my freshman year there. I transferred to Sacred Heart as a sophomore because I was looking for a more personal school. I was really surprised by how accessible the professors were, and by how hard everyone tried to make my transition easier for me.
WHAT'S NEXT
I just took a job as an administrative coordinator on tuberculosis projects. Ultimately I'd like to be more involved in field research; I am very interested in more of the international development and human rights side, like child labor and child trafficking, and would love to pursue a career involved with that.
