FAVORITE COURSES
My nursing classes are all great. I especially loved Health Assessment because that gave me a good foundation for what's normal and what's not when you're evaluating a patients health.
PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS
I never dreamed that I would be graduating with a double major or that I'd be able to follow both of my passions. I was always interested in nursing, but I knew the odds were against me getting accepted into the nursing program since it's so rigorous and time-consuming. I'm proud that I took the prerequisite courses for nursing and did well enough to be accepted as a student in the nursing program.
BIGGEST SURPRISE
Since I waited a long time to go back to school and earn my degree, I'm generally the oldest person in my classes. We do a lot of group work, and I thought, "Oh my God, nobody will want to be in a group with me," since I'm old enough to be the mother of most of my classmates. I was really surprised by how receptive the younger students are to me being here.
WHAT'S NEXT
Once I graduate, I'll work as a nurse for a while, probably in a hospital setting. Ultimately I'd like to go on and earn my master's degree in nursing.
