FAVORITE COURSES
I had a lot of favorite courses! I've always wanted to study history because my father is an amateur historian, and from the time I was little, I've been brought up to read and talk about Irish history in particular. All of the history classes have been excellent because the professors are experts in their fields and such inspiring teachers.
PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS
I'm really proud that I've been able to blend my general passion for history and my love of Celtic culture in particular in ways that let me meet great people and build a greater cultural awareness on campus. For instance, last year I founded the Celtic Club on campus because I saw how we had cultural clubs for almost everything else, but no home for students of Irish
and Scottish descent.
BIGGEST SURPRISE
I had this expectation that, when I got to college, my education would be impersonal. I imagined myself in these huge classes where I wouldn't get to know my teachers on a personal basis. That wasn't true at all. In fact, I found just the opposite: the faculty here is extremely interested in helping you and nurturing your interests, and the students are all really supportive.
WHAT'S NEXT
One thing that attracted me to Sacred Heart was the fact that you can earn your master's degree and teaching certificate in five years. I plan to do that. My history professors here are such great teachers that I’m committed to being as much of an
inspiration for other students as they have been for me.
