Biography: Professor Goss has joined the full time faculty at SHU after serving as an adjunct for the past seven years here at SHU and Housatonic Community College. Prior to that he had been operating an electronics facility for thirty years where he acted as liaison between consumer and manufacturer as well as educator to the general public. The transformation to full time teaching began by teaching analog and digital theory evenings at Porter and Chester Institute. Having taught high school math in the Bridgeport summer school program for several years, he brings with him an experienced understanding of the high-school student and their concerns. This experience will be invaluable when he take on the role of advisor to three of his freshman classes. His objective is to make students comfortable and confident in math so as to enrich them to the fullest. He strives to make all welcome with constant encouragement to do their best and is available for students to visit his “homey” and inviting office.  

Research Interests: Primary interest is to expand knowledge of the areas of mathematics that will assist in the communication of mathematical concepts to students in class. The desire is to motivate and whenever possible to excite the interest of the student in expanding their logic and reasoning skills. These may then be applied to successfully answer some of the challenges faced in real life situations and some food for thought along the way.
