Professor has over 20 years of clinical experience in nursing in the field of pediatrics. She teaches pediatrics and pharmacy in the First Professional Degree program in nursing. Professor Cole comes to Sacred Heart University from Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford where she was Clinical Education Specialist for the Medical/Surgical Unit.  Other leadership positions include Primary Nurse for the Pediatrics ICU and Clinical Care Coordinator for the Emergency Department both at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.  She also consults with a pre-school facility in Connecticut to provide professional development and advice on topics related to health care policy, CPR and First Aid, and a safe environment.

Professor Cole is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a Public Health Nurse Leader focus at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Professor Cole has been an adjunct and clinical faculty member at several institutions including: Quinnipiac, University of Hartford, Yale, and St. Joseph College. Her scholarship interests in pediatrics include: palliative care, environmental health issues that impact children’s health, and eating disorders.  Her advocacy for a safe environment for children she has led her tom make numerous presentations and to participate in several environmental initiatives within the state.
