WELCOME
On behalf of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at Sacred Heart University, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our website. The department is pleased to be able to offer you information about our various programs, individual courses and faculty.

The department currently offers Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in both the Computer Science and Information Technology tracks. In addition there are two undergraduate certificate programs and six graduate certificate programs available. There are presently seven full-time and twenty-four (active) part-time faculty members as well as approximately 350 students pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate degree.

Our curriculum is an ever-evolving, dynamic phenomenon that we strive to be reflective of the needs of the workplace. Some of the most recent courses added include: VB.net, Computer Ethics, Web Design with ASP.net, OOP in Java, Network Security I and II, and UNIX.

Recent studies have strongly indicated that employers are now seeking individuals with degrees in the IT or CS field over those applicants who possess experience but no degree. Needless to say, I am proud of the Computer Science and Information Technology faculty and the students that we teach.

Feel free to contact me with any questions about our numerous programs or courses at pintod@sacredheart.edu or (203) 371-7799.
