The mission of The Gallery of Contemporary Art is to provide to the University community and the general public high-quality and intellectually stimulating encounters with works of contemporary art, in a wide variety of approaches and media, that reflect the concerns of our time.

The work of the Gallery represents an integral visual component of a liberal arts education that reflects two time-honored Catholic intellectual traditions: the active support of the arts of the time, and the search for truth accomplished by encouraging a dialogue with contemporary culture.  Exposure to the works of contemporary artists who anticipate change in our society encourages this intellectual inquiry.
