
Tuvana Rua is an instructor of Management at the John F. Welch College of Business. She holds a BA in Psychology from Bogazici University, an MBA from University of Monaco, and an MA in Integrated Marketing and Communications from Emerson College. She is currently completing a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior at the City University of New York. Her primary areas of research focus on ethical decision-making, group decision-making and decision making across cultures.
Ms. Rua has taught in the areas of management, organizational behavior; business ethics; conflict management and negotiations; and marketing. Prior to joining Sacred Heart University, she served as an adjunct faculty member at Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College and Westchester Community College.
Ms. Rua has extensive international business experience with a concentration in management and marketing. During the period she worked in the marketing field, she created, adapted and supervised marketing campaigns. During her tenured at EMEK, a marketing firm headquartered in Turkey, Istanbul, she facilitated the introduction of new products and foreign companies to the Turkish market. Prior to her position at EMEK, Ms. Rua served as the International Marketing Manager for Balnak Freight Forwarding, an international logistics organization located in Istanbul, Turkey. Ms. Rua also worked for governmental agencies in the US, including Massachusetts Department of Health and Rhodes Island Health Department, in creating social marketing campaigns. She won a certificate of recognition from Massachusetts Department of Health/Tobacco Control Program of Metro West Area for the social sources of tobacco campaign in 2001.
