Linda-jo Russo RN, MSN, Instructor
Linda-jo Russo has over 17 years of clinical experience in the nursing field. She is currently enrolled in a Doctoral program in Educational Leadership at The University of Hartford where she also received her MSN in 2008. While attending the University of Hartford, Professor Russo studied abroad in London England doing special course work at The Florence Nightingale school of Nursing, and visiting various hospitals to discuss their socialized healthcare system. ProfessorRusso earned her BSBM from Albertus Magnus College in 2001 and her ASN from Saint Vincent’s College of nursing in 1995.
Professor Russo's expertise is in General Medicine and CCU where she worked at The Hospital of Saint Raphael. While at Saint Raphael’s she was part of a core team of five nurses who spearheaded the PICC line placement program, which eventually allowed her to become certified in the Seldinger technique using ultrasound and fluoroscopy to place hundreds of PICC lines in patients. As a result of this successful certification program, Professor Russo's abstract was accepted and she presented a poster at The Society of Vascular Nursing’s national symposium in Philadelphia.
In 1998-1999 she traveled to northern and southern California for eight months working in CCU in various hospitals. Professor Russo is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the ANA, and the NLN. She is also a Nightingale award recipient.
