PLACEMENT EXAMINATIONS
Admitted students must take ACS placement examinations in analytical and organic chemistry.  Placement examinations are typically administered during the orientation period a few days before the first week of classes of the Fall and Spring semesters.  Students scoring below the 50th percentile in the organic and analytical are required to enroll in and pass CH221 and CH222 for organic and CH252 for Analytical.  Enrollment in other graduate courses is permitted only in courses that do not require analytical or organic prerequisites.  Co-registration of graduate courses requiring these prerequisites may be allowed depending on the ACS placement examination score of the student and his/her education background.
