On behalf of the Department of Government and Politics at Sacred Heart University, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the political science website. Political science is a very vibrant major at Sacred Heart University. Currently, our program has over 100 declared full-time majors. The political science program has experienced phenomenal growth during the past five years, with the number of declared majors nearly doubling in size. Such impressive growth can be attributed to a very student-centered political science faculty, as well as the rising relevance of government and politics in the twenty-first century. The Department of Government and Politics consists of four full-time faculty and one half-time visiting professor. Several political science faculty are widely published and nationally known for their scholarship.
