MISSION AND VISION
Mission The mission of the ETCP is to prepare individuals to become lifelong learners who integrate the use of technology into a variety of teaching and learning environments.
Vision As the emergence of new technologies continues to drive the knowledge economy, there is a need for skilled workers in IT-related occupations and non-IT industries. In order to enter the workforce and maintain employment, PreK-12 students must become life-long learners who acquire knowledge economy competencies linked to producing, communicating, acquiring or renewing knowledge. Lifelong learners are individuals who participate in learning activities that foster the ability to use information according to the type of subjects, tasks, and problems to be solved. The emergence of the knowledge economy has important implications for the development of the ETCP. The demand for workers possessing higher and more diversified abilities requires that educators receive professional development training that will enable them to develop new instructional strategies for combining workplace competencies with academic, technical, and vocational skills.
