Education Professors Dr. Maria Lizano-DiMare and Dr. Terry Neu joined the delegation of SHU community members who travelled to El Salvador for a cross-cultural mission experience. The trip, scheduled during SHU’s spring break, March 5– 13, 2010 was Dr. Lizano-DiMare’s fourth trip to the area, and Dr. Neu’s 12th trip to what he calls his “home away from home.”

El Salvador is the smallest and the most densely populated country in Central America. This year was the 19th year in a row that a group from SHU travelled to the area to bring hope and help to the people of Tierra Blanca, Usulutan. There are many ways in which the SHU delegation helps the village of Tierra Blanca, from physical labor to other needs which require funding. Fundraising, therefore, is an important part of the delegation's work in the prior year to departing for El Salvador.
