Patrice Kopas, CAS '09
was named principal of Greenwich Catholic School in July 2009, after earning her certification in administration at SHU and spending February to July 2009 as interim principal at Saint Catherine of Siena School in Trumbull.
Nancy Malafatopoulos, Intermediate Administrator Certification, '09
was first chosen as the state and then as the 2010 National family & Consumer sciences Teacher of the Year. The Fairfield Warde High School teacher was chosen in large part for the project in which her students make "Trashy Fashion," which is fashion made out of recycled newspapers, and plastic bags. The dresses are amazingly beautiful and very detailed - not at all what you would expect from recycled materials.
Ms. Malafatopoulos is the program chair for the American Association of family & Consumer Sciences and her goal as the Teacher of the Year is to get a core of family and consumer science subjects mandated by our schools.
EXERCISE SCIENCE
Christopher Carney, BS. EXS '09
