2009 NEW ENGLAND INTER-COLLEGIATE HONOR BAND

Pioneer Band Member Jesse Gatten was selected to perform with the 2009 New England Inter-Collegiate Honor Band at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts.  The New England Intercollegiate Band is a 50-piece honors ensemble selected annually from Colleges and Universities throughout New England. In recent years, a handful of select Sacred Heart musicians have been selected to perform with the band, and have all had positive experiences. Jesse, a junior from New Milford, will be representing Sacred Heart this year. Jesse, a clarinet player, is active in several of the university’s band programs.

The concert will be held April 3-4, and will be conducted by Peter Boonshaft from Hofstra Univeristy. This year, the band will be performing The Redwoods by Rossano Galante, In Heaven's Air by Samuel Hazo, Symphonies of Gaia by Jayce Ogren, and Istvan from "Sinfonia Hungarica" by Jan Van Der Roost.
