FASHION MARKETING & MERCHANDISING PROGRAMS

The Department of Marketing offers a concentration (for Marketing Majors) and a minor (for non-Marketing Majors) in Fashion Marketing and Merchandising for students interested in pursuing a career in marketing and merchandising fashion apparel within the context of a competitive global environment.  

Career paths may be focused on:
  • Creating and marketing product lines for apparel manufacturers
  • Retail management, encompassing buying, merchandising, and sourcing
  • The major support functions of the fashion industry, including advertising and promotion, publicity, public relations, visual merchandising, and fashion trend forecasting

The 3-course Fashion Marketing & Merchandising concentration (9 credits) for Marketing majors includes:

  • MK 240 Fashion Marketing 3 CR
  • MK 250 Fashion Brand Marketing 3 CR
  • MK 260 Marketing Integration: Textiles & Fashion 3 CR
The 6-course (18 credits) Fashion Marketing & Merchandising minor for Non-Marketing majors includes:
  • MK 201 Principles of Marketing 3 CR
  • MK 210 Retailing and Merchandising 3 CR
  • MK 235 Digital Marketing 3 CR
  • MK 240 Fashion Marketing 3 CR
  • MK 250 Fashion Brand Marketing 3 CR
  • MK 260 Marketing Integration: Textiles & Fashion 3 CR
Note: The Graphic Design & Visual Arts Department offers courses in Fashion Design.
