ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF FINANCE
The Department of Economics & Finance at the John F. Welch College of Business invites applications for anticipated tenure-track positions (pending budget approval) in Finance at the Assistant or Associate level. A doctoral degree in Finance and commitment to teaching and research are required. Business experience is a plus, but not required. Rank and salary will be commensurate with academic achievement, published research and a demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and MBA courses. Candidates should be willing to teach evening and on-line classes.
 
Qualified candidates should provide a curriculum vitae, a list of courses taught, an example of written work, a statement of teaching philosophy, three letters of reference, and evidence of teaching effectiveness. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
 
Sacred Heart University has been providing business education since 1965, just two years after its founding, and the MBA degree was the first graduate curriculum in SHU history. The University boasts more than 7,000 alumni with undergraduate degrees in business and over 3,000 with graduate business degrees. The John F. Welch College of Business earned accreditation by the AACSB International in 2006.The University’s program in Luxembourg offers the only American-accredited MBA in north-central Europe, and it has graduated business leaders from 30 different countries.
 
POSITION AVAILABLE: September 2010
 
Position: Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance
 
Job Description: Teach BS/MBA finance courses at Fairfield, satellite campus locations and on-line; advise students; and participate in university service activities.
 
Qualifications: Doctoral degree in finance required. (ABD's will be considered at the assistant professor level. However, applicants are expected to have a completed Ph.D. by the position's starting date.) In addition, candidates with CFA charter will be given preference.
 
Salary – competitive
