For those that want to take their interest even further, we offer a performing arts minor with interesting and exciting courses as well as private lessons in voice, piano, pipe organ, guitar, trumpet, trombone, woodwinds, percussion and jazz improvisation. Our classroom courses, also open to all majors, will teach you about all kinds of fascinating music, classical to contemporary, new and old. In addition, the College of Arts & Sciences offers a music minor.
The Theatre Arts Program is comprised of innovative and multi-talented students dedicated to creating high quality theatrical productions at SHU. The theatre program is under the leadership of top Theatre professionals and available to all enrolled students at Sacred Heart University, regardless of major or prior experience. Theatre Arts is an exciting opportunity for SHU students to acquire skills as an actor, singer, director, designer or technician and be involved in exciting shows in the beautiful, 776-seat Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts. Productions are often performed with the integration of the Band and Choir Programs as well.
We invite all interested students to schedule an audition. Participants accepted by audition may be eligible for a renewable Performing Arts Grant in the area of Choir, Band or Theatre. Contact us to learn more.
