We are please to inform you that we are now able to use the Synthenet web content management system on computers with the Windows Vista operating system. Edits can still be made from computers with Windows XP. Regardless of which operating system you use, please log into the Synthenet system using Internet Explorer.
You’ll notice the editor looks slightly different, but basically operates the same as before. Below is a list of a few exceptions/changes. We are still working through some bugs in the system, so if you have any issues or questions,
please do not hesitate to contact WCM for assistance.
NEW/REVISED FEATURES
· Linking to pages, documents or images - After you highlight text on a page and go to hyperlink it to another page, document or image, the highlight will disappear but once you create the link, the text will be highlighted and underlined.
· Copy/Paste Text from Word - if you copy and paste text from a Word document, a dialogue box will appear asking if you want to clean it up. Follow instructions to strip out formatting.
· Find/Replace – there is a new Find/Replace feature
· Clear Styles - To clear formatting that was selected from the Styles menu, highlight the formatted text, click the dropdown arrow of Style box in toolbar, then select style name you are trying to clear.
· Single return - No longer have to hold shift/enter for a single return.
· Preview Revision vs. Preview Item -To see edits that you have not saved, click on Preview Revision, not Preview Item (from drop down menu when you click on a page name in the pages tree)
· Tables – To edit a table (add/delete cell, columns, rows) right click inside a cell on the table and a pop up menu will appear
· Images – to format an image (add border, vspace, hspace, alignment), click on Insert/Edit image button in toolbar.
Toolbox Debug Information – please disregard the yellow Toolbox Debug Information box that appears in the bottom left of the screen. This will be removed shortly.
